Wanna know how much rebate you can get

The ACT government interest free loan

The ACT Government’s Sustainable Household Scheme is for eligible homeowners who can borrow up to $15,000 to improve home energy efficiency. If you secure a loan, you have 10 years to repay it with zero interest and no upfront costs or fees. You can use the loan to buy rooftop solar panels, household battery storage systems or other energy-efficiency products. You can install one product or bundle from the list of eligible products. Your repayments begin when you install the product or system and it’s operations. This is part of the ACT Government’s commitment to net zero emissions by 2045.

What is STCs

A significant up-front incentive to help recoup a portion of the cost of buying and installing your solar system is the Australian Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme. This is for individuals and businesses to install eligible small-scale renewable energy systems, including solar panel systems. The Scheme creates Small Scale Technology Certificates (STCs). Utility companies are obliged to buy these to achieve government renewable energy targets.

This depends on your geographic location, the size of your system, the amount of electricity in megawatt hours and the year your system was installed. Our solar experts can help you calculate the possibilities. As a guide, one certificate is equal to one megawatt hour of eligible renewable electricity either generated or displaced by the system.(There is a easy way, you can calculate your STCs by clicking the ‘Calculate Saving’ button above.)

No you won’t. STCs don’t apply to solar batter systems. The good news, however, is that you can get a rebate for your batteries through the Next Generation (Next Gen) Energy Storage Program. This program applies to residential and business battery installations. The program was created to encourage the rollout of battery storage in the ACT.

Currently, the Australian Government plans to decrease STCs year-on-year. They won’t be available from 2030 when the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme ends.

Don’t fuss. Mondiaux Solar takes care of this for you by deducting your STCs from the total price of your solar system. We then claim it from the Australian Government when your installation is complete. So there’s nothing you need to do to claim STCs.

Unfortunately, this option isn’t available. STCs only apply when you’re buying and installing your initial system.

What is Next Gen battery rebate?

The Next Generation (Next Gen) Energy Storage Program encourages the rollout of ACT battery storage. It engages ACT-based and approved battery providers to give a rebate on residential and business battery installations. Your new battery system must be coupled with solar panels, connected to the grid, and not already be supported by the program.

The Next Gen rebate depends on the size of the inverter connected to your battery. For households, registered residents will be able to enjoy up to $3,500 (excluding GST) rebate off batteries if joining the program before 31 March 2023.

The rebate is set by the ACT Government. Changes to the amount of rebate would be posted by the ACT Government on the Everyday climate choices website and the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development website.

There’s no need for you to claim. We’ll do that for you. Mondiaux Solar will deduct the rebate price from your quote. All you have to do is complete documents we’ll provide once your installation is complete. We’ll track this for you so you’re not at risk of losing your rebate.

Yes, you can. Mondiaux Solar will guide you by providing the documents you need to complete once your installation is finished. This way you won’t lose out on getting the rebate.

Yes it is. The Australian Energy Market Operator has proposed to decrease the feed-in tariff gradually to zero or even negative numbers, which means you’ll pay the grid to buy your solar feed-in. This makes a battery highly beneficial. Batteries are more economical than ever, and you can get a Next Gen rebate.
