Why should we go solar?

There is a star that gives life to this planet. Without that star, there will be no weather changes, no ocean currents, no different seasons, no plants, and no such climate where humans and other species can survive. There is no existence without this star. And this star which we call “the Sun,” is the mother of life on Earth. The sun has been the driving force of life on Earth for 2.3 billion years, even before humans hit this planet.

Since the human species has come into existence, there are two constants—the evolution of humans and the usage of the energy from the sun to bolster life. Although the genesis of modern solar power can be traced back to the 1800s, the solar power generated in that era was very costly and feeble to provide energy to the masses. Solar power came into a boom in the early 1970s when the concerns regarding oil shortages and the environment started to grow. Human evolution in technology made them use the sun’s gratis energy, which has been present since the beginning of life.

Depletion of Natural Resources

Few sources on this planet are becoming defunct with every passing day. Fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal are non-renewable sources that can vanish over time. These sources are only present in specific world areas in limited stocks, and they take a long time to replenish. They also create pollution, kill flora and fauna, and increase global warming. The extraction and consumption of these resources also wreak havoc on the humanitarian race beyond repair. If humans keep reliant on these sources instead of renewable energy coming from the sun and wind, we will soon become water over the dam, and this planet will die an unwanted death. Earth will fail to succour humans if we don’t change our choices.

Factories are producing fumes due to using the non-renewable resources. This image is used to show the fact that Non-renewable resources are depleting and are polluting the environment.

The question should be, why should we go solar? Or why shouldn’t we go solar? Do we want our planet to become unsuitable for sustaining life? Or do we want to become Dinosaurs in the coming decades? (The non-existent species which existed once). There are many reasons we should go solar, and the following lines will elucidate this matter.

Benefits of going solar:

  • Environment friendly
  • Solar energy comes from a resource present since the inception of life, and it is anticipated to remain there till the end. This resource is supernumerary, and it does not become less if we use it more. According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, “more energy from the sun falls on the earth in one hour than is used by everyone in the world in one year.” Solar energy is hence the most environment-friendly renewable resource that must be used to better the environment.

    Solar energy is environment friendly.

  • Save money
  • This natural form of energy is not only preeminent for our planet, but it is also gratifying for our pockets. How much does a sunbath charge you? Nothing right? Then if you decide to have a solar panel in the long run, other than some maintenance and installation charges, it will cost you nullity. Why should we invest in things that are annihilating our planet? Why shouldn’t we save our money and save this planet from catastrophic destruction?

Solar energy will help you save money while benefiting this planet.

  • Reduce your electricity bills
  • The solar systems installed for the commercial and residential units help the users reduce their electricity bills to minimal or zero. You can use plenteous electricity without any anguish regarding the almighty dollar if you have got solar panels installed at your place. Inclement weather can be delightful for homeowners with the solar facility. Go solar to enjoy electricity bills that are very pleasant to watch for the eyes.

  • Increase the value of your property
  • It has been observed lately that the property’s value is elevated if it is solar energy-dependent. As the tenants living in the rental spaces can’t install the panels themselves in most scenarios, they prefer houses with solar panels installed preliminarily. The rents are also more for such homes. The landlords also sell the places equipped with solar panels at exorbitant prices because the new owners will have an added advantage of the solar panels.

  • Energy independence
  • A solar system in the industrial or residential sector creates energy independence that the nations can luxuriate later. As every country is not endowed with non-renewable resources, governments have to import them from other countries. If the lion’s share of a country’s population depends on an inside energy source, it becomes impregnable and attains a more robust social and economic stature.

  • Secure a rebate
  • Countries outlay a lot to encourage their residents to install solar panels to attain energy independence. It is also to promote a harmonious environment in any area. The Australian government also brings out many schemes that encourage people to install solar panels. The ACT government has launched a sustainable household scheme according to which “Eligible homeowners can borrow up to $15,000. You have up to 10 years to repay it. There’s zero interest, and no upfront costs or fees”. So, you can go solar and secure the rebates.

  • Low maintenance
  • Many people worry about the hidden costs that come with solar panels. These are called maintenance costs. Usually, these costs are meager, and they happen on the twelfth of never. And even if some severe cataclysm has occurred due to harsh weather like hailing, thunder, or a broken tree, the panel can be changed free of cost if under warranty. Usually, the warranties are very extended, from 15 to 25 years. So, the benefits of having a solar system will almost always outweigh the expenses that will incur in the decades-long lifetime of a solar system. Mondiaux Solar also gives 5-25 years of warranty for its different products and services.
